Human Economics

Human Economics

Throughout all of history, humanity has never lived in an era of such intimate globalization, as we do today… Never has any one country’s economy been so dependent upon the economy of other countries, and never has the fate of people in any one country been so dependent upon the fate of people in other countries. Indeed, the current crisis is affecting everyone, everywhere. It is with good reason that journalist, Thomas Friedman, argued in the midst of the crisis that it was “Time to Reboot America.” The laws that define relationships among individuals in society have changed dramatically, hence economy—which reflects those interconnections—must follow suit. Yet, this cannot happen by means of restrictions and regulations, since it is evident that our desire to enjoy is only growing through the years. Therefore, even if we truly want it, we will never be able to turn back time. As we develop, we constantly devise new ways to “beat the system.” Instead of wasting taxpayers’ money trying to reverse an irreversible situation, we must change our approach toward economy and business from the root level. The solution is to start from the place where the crisis began—the lost trust in human relationships. What has become clear is that we no longer trust one another: people don’t trust banks; banks don’t trust the rating firms, who don’t trust company shareholders, who have no trust in financial advisors, who have no trust in traders, who have zero trust in governments, who simply trust no one. Period. Nevertheless, despite the mistrust, we find that we are still dependent upon each other. And the more aware...
Internal Enemy

Internal Enemy

We have always been egoistically pushed forward by nature; we have always followed it blindly; in other words, we were instinctively pushed forward by our desire to keep fulfilling ourselves, and as it kept manifesting in us, we strove towards wealth, fame, power, knowledge—anything at all. As a result, we have reached certain satiety, and our egoism has come to a dead end; we cannot even say that it keeps growing. On one hand, there is a certain line of reevaluation of our values: “Is it right to continue to strive towards the attainment of fame, knowledge, wealth, and power? Is this the meaning of our development?” On the other hand, we see that our dependence on each other forces us to introduce some other international economic formulas, which must take our interdependence into consideration, in other words, if I will suffer, you will also suffer, no matter how egoistic it now appears to be. Even today, I still try to build my happiness on the suppression of others, base my power on being stronger than others, and by collecting more. We must take the integration of the world into consideration. And if we do not correspond to this integration, we will not be able to understand the way we are supposed to advance in accordance with the world and nature. Today we feel nature’s challenge, its pressure on us with the only purpose of making us gradually begin to change ourselves to become like it. This has never happened before. If we were to look at it from an ontological perspective, we would see that nature has always...
A Small Step for a Person, a Giant Step for Humanity

A Small Step for a Person, a Giant Step for Humanity

In order to reach balance with nature’s integrality, we have to start treating each other differently in all areas of our activity. Even if the change is slight, even if it’s only 1%, yet if it happens all over the world, it will bring about radical, enormous changes for the better. In general, we underestimate small things. For example, over the last 50 years the world’s temperature increased by 0.1%, and look at what kind of changes this caused: the glaciers in Alaska and other places are melting, the ocean level has risen by several centimeters, and the climate is changing. And all this was caused by a mere change of 0.1% because it is happening in the whole world. In the same way, a tiny change in every individual will be multiplied by seven billion souls who are all tightly interconnected with each other, a circumstance that was not present before. There is already universal closeness among us in some regards, and therefore this tiny movement will cause tremendous changes, transforming the world in an extraordinary way. Since the current processes are happening on a very large scale, this small change in individuals will bring about many consequences in our lives. Under conditions of mutual influence, every person influences everyone else because we are all connected within a single network of thoughts, desires, plans, and so on. Scientists are proving this as well. As a result, our thoughts and desires are coming closer and becoming inter-included in one another. This is creating a completely different territory and platform for humanity’s existence. Through it, we, the people, magnify our...
